22 - 06 Al's leaving do.

Roll call first and apologies to anybody I have missed off. Secondly apologies for those whos drinks I may have misrepresented)

Alan (cooking lager) and Sharon (Zinfandel)
Paul Lawson (Singha)
Harvey Brereton (Singha Songa)
Simon Lowndes (Cooking lager and diet coke)
Richard Chalfont (I've only had 2 Singhas )
David (sign it loud and make it longa) and Denise Smith (white wine for the lady)
Paul Thurland (I'm driving ) and Wendy Lenton (Sorry Wendy did not notice what you were drinking)
Alex Taylor and Fiona (again I think they were both driving)
Sue Reilly (As long as it's alcoholic)
Phil Phillips (Top hat and tails) and Anita Glegg (Same drink as Sue)
Natalie Lees (Vodka and diet coke)
Sam Lee (I'm driving to brum in a minute)

It started off serenely at Bar 25 with a couple of cheeky ones. We managed to be the first ones to the thai restuarant I think it was called Inchiban or Inchinnan or something like that.

After an interesting starter of odd numbered portions and perhaps not enough plates washed down with copious amounts of cooking lager, sighas and zinfandel the second course came out.

Duck - crispy and pancakes to boot -

quote from Harvey - "Pass me some of dat sauce stuff and mines a singha"
quote from Dave - "Does anybody want that one and mines a singha"
quote from Paul - "I'm just popping off to the loo"

No idea what the third course was about - someone said it was soup, tasted like dishwater with prawns in.!

Final course was about 6 different dishes which were all good, some hot and some that took the roof off your mouth - all washed down with singhas, cooking lager and zinfandel.

After a whip round for the bill and a dump of shrapnel for a tip we wondered down the road to Weatherspoons for a quick one (or two). This was at around 11:30 and the pub was emptying (nothing to do with Harvey wearing Phils Top hat into the pub).

Rounds and rounds of drinks flowed and we all had a good chat and put all the worlds problems to rights.

Things then started getting blurred and I'm sure I must have eaten a dodgy prawn or something (honest).

We must have left Weatherspoons at around 01:30am. (I think)

I can remember trying the Hotel's night club and we did not get in - one of the bouncers said it was empty and they were closing early - however!

We managed to get into the Hotel bar and the bar man was pleased to see us. We set up a tab on Pauls room followed quickly by mine and we got back to some serious supping.

I can remember a taxi arriving for the guests going towards Rushden / Wellingborough saying our farewells and waving them off.

Next thing I remember was waking up with the room phone ringing - Sharon answered to find out that we should have checked out by 10:00am. It was 10:15.

The rest they say is history - farewell Getronics and I hope that we can do it all again soon.

Thanks to Sue for organising the meal and the get together - I think that we all enjoyed ourselves.
